SEO New Year’s Resolutions
January 10, 2022
As the new year approaches, it’s time to re-evaluate your search engine optimization practices to either bring your page to the top of SERPs or make sure that it maintains its coveted spot. These are the New Year’s resolutions that you need to implement to make your SEO goals a reality.
Content is Still King
Every business and marketing agency has heard the age-old mantra that content is king, and it still rings true. No matter how many times Google updates its algorithms, you can trust that unique content will rank higher.
Unique Images Matter
While using stock photos is convenient, having unique images matters more. Take your own blog photos anytime that you have the opportunity to do so to instantly give your page a boost in rankings.
Guest Posting
Writing unique content can be time-consuming. To pump out more content, open blogs to guest posting. It gives other businesses the opportunity to build backlinks, and search engines will appreciate that your blog is consistently updated.
FAQ Sections
Adding FAQ sections at the end of articles is critical. This gives businesses a key opportunity to target long range keywords, helping them rank both higher in results and for more keywords. The key to increasing your ranking is to use a combination of both long and short keywords to beat the competition. These questions also show up as snippets in Google results, once again boosting your ranking.
Don’t Discredit the Classics
Old search engine optimization techniques aren’t outdated yet. Make it a priority to add to your SEO game instead of changing it. Continue to optimize your site by including white space, bullet points, and keywords. Meta tags are still important. Social media platforms remain essential. Over half of the world uses social media platforms, so don’t forget to include them in your search engine optimization plan for the upcoming year.
Make Sure You’re Mobile Friendly
Most websites are mobile friendly now, but there are exceptions. If you’re one of those exceptions, it’s time for an upgrade. Google bots are now primarily smart phones that crawl your website. If your website isn’t mobile friendly, it won’t rank high in results. Most of your visitors are also coming from mobile devices. Websites that are only PC friendly are now outdated.
