Google Chrome HTTPS Update: October 2017

August 22, 2017

Starting in October, Chrome will show security warnings on all HTTP web pages that have forms. This is part of Google’s move to protect user information by eventually displaying warnings on all HTTP pages. Chrome already displays the “Not Secure” warning on HTTP web pages where users enter passwords or credit card information, and it’s resulted in a 23% drop in visits to websites in this category.

How do you get the ‘S’ in your HTTPS? You need an SSL certificate. SSL security encrypts user data so that it cannot be accessed by just anyone with access to your web server. We recommend you purchase you website SSL with Fasturtle and take comfort in knowing your website is safer than before.
