Fasturtle wants to make sure you know what your reputation is online!

Tuesday, April 27th, 2010

With the development of technological advances, new challenges emerge. People now are able to make consumer and business decisions from the convenience of the internet.  These users can make a variety of claims about an individual, business, or organization.  The internet has also empowered nearly everyone with a dispute, whether real or imagined, to publicize these gripes. As a result, a quick check on a search engine might bring up some pretty undesirable allegations about a person or brand name.

Knowing these things can help you satisfy these concerns and prevent an abundance of negative information from harming you in the long term. You can engage in defensive public relations when you feel like something is going to affect your reputation negatively. Now you can learn who is having the real influence over how you are perceived by the general public and work actively to perfect it.

Google has a great FREE service called Google Alerts, where users determine the frequency of checks for new results. Three options are available: “once a day”, “once a week”, or “as it happens”.  You would select keywords like your company name, the CEO’s name, an executive at your company, etc. and Google will notify you when new results come in for those keywords.

Don’t let the internet run wild with your reputation. Take charge and get an account with Google Alerts so you can ensure that you are viewed in the proper light.

FASTURTLE CARES AND CONTINUES TO GIVE BACK TO OUR COMMUNITY!

Friday, April 23rd, 2010

Fasturtle believes that investing in your community is a great way to give back to those who have helped support our business. Volunteer groups and non-profit organizations do so much to help the communities that all of us are a part of, but they can’t do it alone.

Through the years of our success and great projects, Fasturtle strives to give back to our community!  Fasturtle consistently gives back to the community in the past 10 years that our doors have been open.   We recently have had the opportunity to work with two vastly different and equally important organizations; Mount Claret Retreat Center and Mountain Point High School Football Team and Booster Club.

Mount Claret Retreat Center provides a true sanctuary where people can spend time with the Lord. The center is especially fitting for meetings and retreats for groups such as parishes, schools and youth groups. Mount Claret is also the home of Cursillo Retreats.

Mountain Point High School Football team is one of the top teams in Arizona.  Here are a few of their accomplishments for 2009: East Valley Tribune Coach of the Year, Arizona Cardinals 2009 Coach of the Year, Friday Night Fever Coach of the Year, Coaches Aid Coach of the Year, and 2009 Region Coach of the Year.  They also have a great Booster Club that helps out with the team and their events!

Fasturtle would also like to thank Shade Foundation, The Matt Leinart Foundation and Students Supporting Brain Tumors Research and many other Non Profit organizations for running with the Turtle over the years!

Please help support these great Local and National organizations!

Fasturtle says, make sure to blog within your fair use rights!

Thursday, April 22nd, 2010

Are you a blogger that is confused on the fair use rights?  Fasturtle wants to make sure that we are blogging within our fair use rights, and we want to help you make sure that you are as well.  I read an article in WebProNews that helped me understand the fair use rights. I want to make sure “Turtle Nation” knows the guidelines and rules as well. This website has really good information.

When blogging, we like to use other people’s work to help justify or explain our point, which is fine, as long as we give credit where credit is due!  We as bloggers have the right to quote in context, and to say ‘The Arizona Republic said this.’  Another way of making sure that you give credit where credit is due, is by adding a link to the site that your reader can read the article or story themselves.

So next time you want to quote someone else’s thoughts or ideas, make sure you are staying within your fair use rights!

THE VALUE OF A GOOD WEBSITE!

Friday, April 16th, 2010

The value of a website can never be underestimated. Today, a suitable business website is a validation of professionalism — an electronic business card, so to speak. A proper website adds a level of trust in the business that wouldn’t exist otherwise. Done well, the website notifies its customers that the business is authentic. Done poorly, the site can leave customers wondering whether the products and services will be just as bad.
A good design adds value to your website and its performance. Your website is your business. It is almost every aspect of your business.

How much time do you have, as a business owner, in your life?

What is the value of your time?

The end result of your website is to draw business to you! The point of your website is to showcase your products and or service in a professional manner to help make the phone ring! When the economy’s slow, these values move from beneficial to crucial.
Easiest way to put value to your website is to take your average sale per client. If you get one client per month, what does this look like for you? And this is just the minimum. Now say you get ten clients per month, what does this look like for you? Now somewhere in the middle of these two numbers is what you should be spending on your website and some form of internet marketing for your business. There are design companies that charge anywhere from $6,000 to $30,000+ for just a basic information site. And there are companies that will pay that much for their website.

Why do you think they pay that much?

Call Fasturtle today at 480-348-0467 to get more information on building your company a GREAT website at an affordable price!
